CDC Software Joins The Open Applications Group CDC Software, a wholly owned subsidiary of CDC Corporation (NASDAQ: CHINA) and a provider of industry-specific enterprise software applications and business services, has recently announced it has joined the Open Applications Group Inc.  Read more here.

High Tech Industry Council Formed.  The Open Applications Group, Inc. has formed a High Industry Tech Council to create the Business Network Integration Standards that support the diverse process integration needs of the High Tech community. The charter members of the OAGi High Tech Council include Cisco, IBM, Intel, Microsoft, Oracle, GXS, and SAP with the plan to add several more members in the coming months.  Read more details here.  Also, read GXS separate press release here.

Mid-Market Workgroup Formed.  The Open Applications Group, Inc. has approved the formation of a new Working Group focused on the needs of the Mid-Market.  The Mid-market Working Group intends to address the need to enable more open standards based “out-of-the-box” plug and play types of solutions. It will initially address the Order-to-Cash process with an expectation to eventually establish a follow on chartered Work Group to expand into other mid-market business process domains.  Read more details here.

OAGi extends their Convergence Efforts by signing MoU for Manufacturing Standards.  ISA, MIMOSA, the OPC Foundation, the Open Applications Group, Inc. (OAGi) and WBF have established Open O&M, a cooperative forum where members can work together to solve automation challenges through standardization and harmonization of industry guidelines.

Open O&M intends to stimulate continuous improvement of specific standards and specifications overseen by participant organizations. Read more details here.

OAGi Sterling Commerce joins Open Applications Group.  Announces direct support for OAGIS in their products.  Sterling Commerce, a subsidiary of AT&T Inc.,
has announced enhanced capabilities for industry and horizontal standards that promote interoperability, including additional support for Chemical Industry Data Exchange (CIDX), Petroleum Industry Data Exchange (PIDX), Open Applications Group (OAGi) and the Global Upstream Supply Initiative (GUSI).

Standards support will enable its Gentran Integration Suite (GIS) 4.3 customers to automate their implementation of key initiatives across various supply chains, including aerospace, automotive, chemical, consumer packaged goods, high technology and petroleum. Read more here.

The Open Applications Group announces changes to bylaws and membership.  The OAGi Policy Board has approved changes to the OAGi Bylaws to ensure that OAGi standards will remain free and open and OAGi has also changed their membership categories to better serve their members, users, and partners. The Open Applications Group and the HR-XML Consortium Announce the Start of Architectural Alignment.  The Open Applications Group and the HR-XML Consortium have announced that work has begun on a project to align the business-language standards produced by the two organizations. The planned architectural alignment represents a significant step forward for enterprise application interoperability.

Nigel Davies named OAGi Chairman

Infor has adopted OAGIS as native interface.
We are pleased to announce that Infor, one of the largest application software companies in the world, has adopted the Open Applications Group Interoperability Standard (OAGIS) as the native interface for all communication between Infor solutions.  Infor is comprised of many important software companies that you may have heard of, including Baan, SSA Global, Mapics, GEAC, and others).

IBM increases investment in OAGi.
We are pleased that IBM has recently increased their commitment to the Open Applications Group.  they have also named a new Board member.  Read more here.

STAR announces intent to use OAGIS 9.0.
The Standards for Automotive Retail (STAR) organization has recently voted to move from OAGIS® 8.0 to OAGIS 9.0® as their base.  Read more here.

OAGi Board of Directors votes to implement the ISA-95 manufacturing standard in OAGIS, signs MoU with ISA.
In yet another major development in the ongoing manufacturing standards convergence efforts, the Open Applications Group Board of Directors has voted, upon the request of the Manufacturing Integration working Group (MIG), to express the work of the ISA-95 working group in OAGIS, thus providing the end user a world class XML solution based on a popular and respected body of work.
