Membership Categories, Privileges and Dues

POLICY BOARD MEMBERSHIP

This membership category is open to all, including Solution Providers, End Users, Government Agencies, and Standards Organizations.  Yearly fees for participation at this level are:

Revenues over USD $500 million

$30,000 US

Revenues of less than or equal to USD $500 million

$25,000 US

Revenues of less than USD $100 million

$20,000 US

For Government Agencies, the Fees for participation at this level are:

National Government Department or Ministry

$30,000 US

Local Government or Education Institution

$20,000 US

Membership Rights and Privileges for OAGi Policy Board Members:

1.       Voting rights on the Policy Board (one vote per organization).

2.       Eligibility for nomination and election to the Executive Committee of the Policy Board.

3.       Eligibility to sit on advisory boards and business committees that set OAGi policy.

4.       Eligibility to attend all Policy Board meetings.

5.       Policy Board membership includes Architecture Council membership and one Industry Council membership of their choice.

6.       Policy Board members are expected to actively participate and to contribute the equivalent of one half full time equivalent person effort in meetings and workgroups. A minimum of one "success stories/value case" per year and a minimum of one executive level quotes/announcements per year.

7.       Policy Board membership offers higher levels of visibility across all OAGi marketing material and approved use of OAGi brand material.

8.       Eligibility to attend all OAGi technical meetings for free, up to five persons.

9.       The right to participate on any Workgroup.

10.   Voting rights on any technical Workgroup (one vote per organization).

11.   Discounts on OAGi Products, Services, and Training.

12.   Access to OAGi website, members only sections.

Special Note on payment of membership fees:  Membership fees are discounted 5% for payment 30 days in advance and membership ceases with all rights removed 60 days in arrears.


INDUSTRY COUNCIL MEMBERSHIP

This membership category is open to all, including Solution Providers, End Users, Government Agencies, and Standards Organizations. Industry Councils will be chartered by the Policy Board and will be focused on specific industry needs not required across the global OAGi Community.  Yearly fees for participation at this level are:

Revenues over USD $500 million

$15,000 US

Revenues of less than or equal to USD $500 million

$12,500 US

Revenues of less than USD $100 million

$10,000 US

For Government Agencies, the Fees for participation at this level are:

National Government Department or Ministry

$15,000 US

Local Government or Education Institution

$10,000 US

Membership Rights and Privileges for OAGi Council Members:

1.       Each chartered Council is permitted one liaison (non-voting) with the Policy Board - elected from within council via majority vote.

2.       Eligibility to attend all OAGi technical meetings for free, up to three persons.

3.       The right to initiate, sponsor, and lead projects within the scope of the specific Industry Council.

4.       The right to participate on any Workgroup.

5.       Voting rights on any technical Workgroup (one vote per organization).

6.       Council members are expected to actively participate and to contribute the equivalent of one quarter full time equivalent person effort in meetings and workgroups, at least one "success story/value case" per year and a minimum of one executive level quote/announcements per year.

7.       Industry Council membership offers specialized, authorized "tracks" with every OAGi meeting.

8.       Industry Council membership offers second highest level of visibility in the organization and approved use of OAGi brand material.

9.       Discounts on OAGi Products, Services, and Training.

10.   Access to OAGi website, members only sections.

ARCHITECTURE COUNCIL MEMBERSHIP

This membership category is open to all, including Solution Providers, End Users, Government Agencies, and Standards Organizations.  Yearly fees for participation at this level are: 

Revenues over USD $500 million

$15,000 US

Revenues of less than or equal to USD $500 million

$12,500 US

Revenues of less than USD $100 million

$10,000 US

For Government Agencies, the Fees for participation at this level are:

National Government Department or Ministry

$15,000 US

Local Government or Education Institution

$10,000 US

Membership Rights and Privileges for OAGi Architecture Council Members:

1.       Council is permitted one liaison (non-voting) with the Policy Board - elected from within each council.

2.       Eligibility to attend all OAGi technical meetings for free, up to three persons.

3.       The right to initiate, sponsor, and lead projects within the scope of the Architecture Council.

4.       The right to participate on any Workgroup.

5.       Voting rights on any technical Workgroup (one vote per organization).

6.       Council members are expected to actively participate and to contribute the equivalent of one quarter full time equivalent person effort in meetings and Workgroups, at least one "success story/value case" per year and a minimum of one executive level quote/announcements per year.

7.       Council will sponsor one specialized, authorized "track" with every OAGi meeting.

8.       Council membership offers high level of visibility in the organization and approved use of OAGi brand material.

9.       Discounts on OAGi Products, Services, and Training.

10.   Access to OAGi website, members only sections.

PARTNER COUNCIL MEMBERSHIP

This membership category is only open to Not-For-Profit Standards Development Organizations and membership is restricted to invitation only with the approval of the OAGi Policy Board.

There are no monetary fees for membership at this level since OAGi is focused on collaboration and cross industry interoperability, however to encourage these goals membership does require the annual commitment of:

·      
Equivalent total of one-half FTE resource of a standards, infrastructure and advanced technology resource,
·       Equivalent total of one-fourth FTE resource of a marketing and documentation resource,
·      
Incorporation of OAGIS Base into their standard,
·      
Incorporation of OAGIS materials in their documentation and materials providing full attribution,
·      
Submission of all standards material back to OAGi on an RF basis and within the OAGi IP Policy for possible inclusion within the OAGIS Base,
·      
Permission to use their material within OAGi material within their IP Policy bounds,
·      
Active participation in major OAGi events and actions

Membership Rights and Privileges for OAGi Platform Council Members:

1.       The Council is permitted one liaison (non-voting) with the Policy Board - elected from within by majority vote.

2.       The Council is permitted one voting member to the Architecture Council – elected from within by majority vote

3.       Eligibility to attend all OAGi technical meetings for free, up to three persons.

4.       The right to initiate, sponsor, and lead projects within the scope of the Partner Council.

5.       The right to participate on any Workgroup.

6.       Voting rights on any technical Workgroup (one vote per organization).

7.       Council members are to provide at least three "success story/value cases" per year and a minimum of two executive level quotes/announcements per year.

8.       Council is permitted to offer a specialized, authorized "track" within every OAGi meeting.

9.       Platform Council membership offers use of OAGi brand material.

10.   Discounts on OAGi Products, Services, and Training.

11.   Access to OAGi website, members only sections.

·       Special Note on membership commitment:  Commitment conditions will be monitored quarterly and membership and rights will be subject to revocation by the Policy Board if commitments are not met for two quarters. Membership revocation will not change any prior contributions and will not retroactively invalidate any prior work or contributions.


COUNCIL GOVERNANCE

1.       It is intended that there will be multiple Industry Councils based on vertical industry or vertical function needs.

2.       Formation of a Council will be through petitioning the Policy Board. A simple majority vote is required for approval of a new Council.

3.       Councils require a minimum of three Council members to be formed and to remain viable.

4.       Council leadership will be by nomination and election within the Council.  The Council Chair will serve for a period of two years and may not serve concurrent terms.

5.       Councils will adhere to the OAGi bylaws, standards platform, and methodology.

6.       Councils will charter/track/report their working groups.

7.       Councils require an annual review by Policy Board to retain their charter.

8.       Councils will resubmit extensions and changes back to Architecture Council for base incorporation.

9.       Councils minimally meet at each OAGi User Meeting.

10.   Councils will report out and provide a track at each OAGi Meeting.

11.   The Policy Board will approve release plans and releases.

12.   The Architecture Council is responsible for OAGIS deliverables.

13.   The Architecture Council is chaired by the OAGIS CTO and approved by the Policy Board.

14.   No Council member will be permitted to charge for OAGIS Base.

15.   Industry Councils and the Partner Council will provide one liaison to the Architecture Council and one to the Policy Board.

16.   It is recommended that the Partner and Industry Councils establish cross liaisons.

17.   Liaisons will be maintained with other standards or professional organizations through MOU – each of which require approval of Policy Board (existing MOUs are grandfathered).


GENERAL MEMBERSHIP

This membership category is open to all, including Solution Providers, End Users, Government Agencies, and Standards Organizations.  Yearly fees for participation at this level are:

Revenues over USD 500 million

$7,500 US

Revenues range between USD 100 M and up to USD 500 million

$5,000 US

Revenues range between USD 50 M and up to USD 100 million

$3,000 US

Revenues range between USD 10 M and up to USD 50 million

$1,500 US

Revenues range between USD 5 M and up to USD 10 million

$500 US

Revenues of less than USD $5 million

$250 US

For Government Agencies, the Fees for participation at this level are:

National Government Department or Ministry

$7,500 US

Local Government or Education Institution

$5,000 US

Membership Rights and Privileges for OAGi General Members:

1.       The right to participate on any Workgroup.

2.       The right to petition councils for new Workgroups.

3.       Formal direct membership feedback channel to Board and Councils.

4.       Eligibility for one person to attend all OAGi technical meetings for free.

5.       Access to OAGi website, members only sections.

6.       Use of OAGi Member Logo.

Conditions of Membership

All membership applicants are bound by the Open Applications Group By-laws and IP Policy.  These may be found on our web site at: OAGi Bylaws and OAGI IP Policy.  

Membership dues shall be paid on an annual basis. For members to remain in good standing, membership dues are to be received no later than 30 days after applicable due date. Applicants shall pay membership dues for first year of membership prior to being accepted as members.
