Metals Industry Council
Minimize

Welcome to the OAGi Metals Industry Council Page

This section of the OAGi website is devoted to the activities of the OAGi Metals Industry Council.

The role of the Metals Industry Council is to provide leadership for e-standards initiatives within or relating to the metals industry. Specifically, the Council exists to:

Build, manage and promote an implementable e-commerce framework that enables the exchange of business information within the metals industry and that complies with the OAGi approved architecture.

Maintain an industry knowledge base that consists of business process workflows, standards documentation, case studies, implementation support documentation, research, testing, and software options for companies to use in support of the industry-wide adoption of e-commerce.

Utilize this framework and knowledge base to support members as they strive to improve their individual operational efficiency through the creation, testing, implementation and change management process required for real world e-commerce.

Metals Industry Council Initiatives include:

1. Developing and publishing standards messages and business process guidelines.

2. Promoting the adoption and implementation of standards within the Metals industry.
3. Providing Metals industry input into OAGi initiatives.
4. Evaluating the value of relevant emerging technologies.
