Welcome to the OAGi Architecture Council Page

This section of the OAGi website is devoted to the activities of the OAGi Architecture Council.

The Architecture Council plays a unique role in the OAGi standards setting process. The role of the OAGi Architecture Council is to:

  • Maintain consistency in the OAGIS data model and OAGIS Platform
  • Ensure quality and conformance to OAGIS development principles and methodology in all deliverables
  • Provide guidance (normative and non-normative) on how to use OAGi
  • Provide advisory role to Policy Board on technical direction issues
  • Define and recommend current and future architecture for OAGIS

Our Current Activities

High Volume Working Group - The High Volume Working Group EXI effort has completed their Project Definition and gotten it approved by the Policy Board. They are working toward building their White Paper and Proof of Concept.

The OAGIS Release 10 Working Group – The OAGIS Release 10 Working Group is the group working on the next generation version of OAGIS.

The OAGIS Release 10 Working Group meets every Friday from 9 AM to 12 Noon Eastern Standard Time. They are currently reviewing all of the OAGIS Nouns as a group and renaming or remodeling them according to the CCTS 3.0 Data Modeling Methodology standard just released by UN/CEFACT.

They have also formed two sub-groups, one for manufacturing and one for financials to dig deeper into each function.

Quality Assurance Working GroupThis is a standing Working Group who reviews all Working Group deliverables. This is the key WG that ensures consistency across of of the OAGIS standard.

Business Process Working Group - The preliminary scope is to develop a standard for defining and documenting business processes using the OAGIS standard.

Call for participation - We are calling a volunteer to lead this Working Group. For more details, please contact us here. Thank you in advance.

OAGIS with Web Services, SOA, and REST Working Group - We are still planning to start this Working Group. We hope to get the team moving in the first quarter of 2010. Please write to us if you are interesting in contributing.
